Gym with sauna in Friendswood, TX.
A dry sauna, an infrared sauna, and a 38–50°F cold plunge programmed as contrast therapy — on the same membership as the strength floor.
Wellness Elite Fitness in Friendswood, TX is a gym with a sauna — specifically, two: a traditional dry sauna and a separate infrared sauna, paired with a 38–50°F cold plunge for contrast therapy. All three sit inside the recovery suite at 104 Whispering Pines Avenue, on the same membership as the 24-hour strength floor.
Two saunas, one contrast loop.
The Friendswood recovery suite was built around heat and cold as a paired protocol rather than as separate amenities. The dry sauna runs at traditional Finnish temperatures — high heat, low humidity, short rounds — for the cardiovascular and heat-shock response. The infrared sauna runs cooler, longer, and at wavelengths that warm the body directly rather than the air around it. Members alternate between the saunas and the 38–50°F cold plunge in measured cycles.
The reason both saunas exist on the floor is that they are not interchangeable. Heat-shock-protein response and the autonomic loop are best served by traditional dry heat at higher ambient temperature. The infrared sauna is the right tool when the goal is a longer, gentler session at a lower air temperature — recovery after a heavy strength block, a sleep-debt week, or simply more time under load than the dry sauna allows.
Where it sits
The saunas and the plunge are inside the recovery suite adjacent to the strength floor. A member finishes a lift, walks the corridor, and is in the sauna inside a minute. The recovery suite operates 7 AM to 7 PM by appointment; the strength floor is 24 hours.

What else is in the building
The recovery suite carries the rest of the modality set — hyperbaric oxygen, red light, float, PEMF, hydrogen, salt cabin, six in-house licensed massage modalities. The strength floor runs on Panatta, Atlantis, Watson, Evofit, and a full free-weight + cable system. There is one location, one membership, one practice.
